I'm obviously not very dedicated to my blog...

I almost don't remember how to do this. In my last post we were announcing that a new little baby would be joining our family. On the 5th of this month that little baby turned 1. Braxton Layne is certainly not little and has brought so much fun to our family. He is happy almost all the time and has a great belly laugh. He is just starting to take some steps and I think he'll be running around the house before to long. Happy Birthday sweet boy!
He had a bath before his nap and so he had major bedhead at his party.
Trying out the icing. Blake is such a great big brother. He loves Braxton so much and the feeling is definately mutual. No one can make Braxton laugh quite like Blake can.

Braxton loves his new "tractor". Pretty sure he said "tractor" the other day.
Drinking and driving... LOL!

Mother's Day 2011

It's been forever since I've updated my blog and since I just took some new pictures of Blake I decided it was time. I love this pic. My little boy is growing up. He seems like he is getting taller all the time and I seem to notice it the most when he is dressed up. Getting a Mama's day kiss. He thought this was great fun. It was, but I'm sure glad he didn't fall and rip his brand new pants.

Chocolate covered pretzel wreaths

Every Christmas I like to give my husband's choir members a little something homemade for Christmas. I don't think any of them read my blog so I think I'm safe to post this. The party is tomorrow night.

I recently brought home a few Christmas cookbooks from the library. I found a really cute idea to make pretzel wreaths but decided to make it my own way. This is what I came up with.

You'll need a bag of white chocolate chips (I found this will make about 5 wreaths). You could also use white bark, which is probably cheaper, unless you find a good deal on chips. You could use any kind of sprinkles you wish. I thought this holly and berry mix was really cute.

11-12 small twist pretzels per wreath.

Melt chips in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth.

Using a fork, cover pretzels in chocolate, letting it drain well.

Place each pretzel on wax paper connecting them in a circle.

Place 6 pretzels in a circle for the first layer.

You can use 5 or 6 pretzels for the second layer, overlapping the pretzels on the first layer. (That doesn't sound quite right, but I can't think how else to say it LOL)

Add the sprinkles before the chocolate dries. I put them in the freezer for a few minutes so they will get nice hard.

These aren't the greatest pics but this one has 5 pretzels on the top layer.

This one has 6 pretzels on the top layer.

You could add a ribbon at the top or add a bow.

Merry Christmas to You!

Can you believe it's almost Christmas? Time is just flying! The next few weekends are so busy but I know it will be a lot of fun too. My prayer is that in all our busyness we will remember and celebrate the true meaning of the season. Merry Christmas to all you three readers! (It might not be that many anymore LOL)

This was pre-haircut, but the ones I took after are turned to the side and for the life of me I can't remember how to turn them.
