Happy Easter!

So much has happened since I last posted. We have become "crafty". I say that with a laugh because, as you can tell by the picture, my creativity is rather lacking. We had fun though so I do believe that is all that matters.

We've had a lot of fun in the past two months but we've also experienced a deep sadness. Our dear friend and former pastor, Dr. Whitaker passed away. It still doesn't feel real and we miss him so much. We had the privelage of singing "I've Just Seen Jesus" at his funeral. He requested that song everytime we would go back to the church to sing. The morning I heard that he had passed away I immediately thought of that song and how now he was seeing Jesus. It's been interesting to hear Blake's perspective. Philip had told him that Dr. Whitaker's heart had stopped. Later he told me that his heart broke. He wondered where Mrs. Whitaker was and if she was going to go and get Dr. Whitaker. Just the other day we were talking again about how Dr. Whitaker is in heaven with Jesus along with others that we know. So glad we have the hope of seeing them again.

One of my best friends, Amy Balty and her family, came to the funeral. Even though the circumstances were not as we would've wished, it was so good to see her for a few short hours.

Well we had to throw another birthday in there for me. They aren't nearly as fun as they used to be but I did have a wonderful dinner out with Philip at Maggiano's and then Blake and I had a piece of ice cream cake that they had bought. It feels like I should still be in my 20's but they are long behind me and even though I'm not 40 yet for several more years it's not that far off as my Dad so sweetly reminded me the other day. Bless his heart!

Can't have Easter without coloring eggs. It was the first time that Blake had done that and here he is with the finished product.

I wanted to get a family picture taken on Easter Sunday but only ended up with Blake by himself. I need to get professional pictures taken of him before he outgrows this suit. It amazes me that he is happy to wear it. He likes looking like his Daddy. He had to get a new white shirt and he was rather pleased about that.

Hope everyone had a blessed Easter celebrating the our Risen Savior!
